Curious about the pottery wheel? Our planned kids sessions in Pilsen introduce clay, tools and shaping through guided practice, one small project at a time.

A first spin after school.
We’re planning a small-group introduction for ages 9–13, beginning with six children so there’s room for individual help.

Are kids classes open for booking?
We are collecting interest for the Chicago program. Tuesdays, 4:30–6:00 PM Central is the proposed wheel-class schedule. Start dates, instructors and prices will be confirmed before enrollment opens. Request updates below; this does not reserve a seat.
What happens to the pottery after the session?
Your quote or class listing will explain the materials and finishing options. Kiln firing and glazing are additional unless your written kids package explicitly includes them. Fired pottery needs a later pickup, usually around three weeks. Unfired clay is fragile and is not food-safe; air-dry projects are decorative. A finished wheel-thrown piece is not guaranteed from a first session.
Do parents stay?
Please plan for a parent or guardian to stay unless our team has confirmed a different arrangement for your session. Tell us how many adults will attend and whether they would like to participate so we can confirm space and any added cost.
What should children wear?
Choose comfortable clothes that can get messy and closed-toe shoes. Tie back long hair and keep loose jewelry away from the wheel. Our team will explain how to use the materials and equipment.
Can you help us choose an age-appropriate project?
Yes. Share the children’s age range and any access or support questions with the studio. Handbuilding is a starting point for younger makers, while wheel sessions involve more guided practice. The team will confirm the project, wheel setup and suitability before you pay.
